How we calculated this
- Returned revenue = annual revenue × return rate. This is the gross value of merchandise sent back.
- True cost applies a conservative 35% factor for reverse logistics, processing, and stock write-downs. Real-world figures from apparel retailers range 25–66%.
- Recoverable assumes ~52% of fashion returns are size-related (Statista) and that virtual try-on typically reduces size-driven returns by 20–35%. We use 30%.
